Great & MustKnow Quotes on Insanity, Foolishness

Great & Must-know
QUOTES ON
INSANITY

Here are some insanely great thoughts of my own self and of many other Greats on Insanity, foolishness, wisishness etc. If you don’t know them, you are missing something and living in a world of foolishness.

Read on and re-discover yourself. You will never be the same again.

Ø  There is no universally agreed definition of INSANITY, in any dictionary. There isn’t one for Sanity either.
Ø  Insanity is inside you. Sanity is outside you. It is cleanliness of the outside – which only is possible.
Ø  Getting mad at someone periodically – helps us retain some sanity. We know – we are mad at this person and none else. It is comforting to know this.
Ø  Getting mad is like a medicine. Get mad at corruption – if you want a world, free of corruption. Else, you will live in, and live with, a world of corruption.
Ø  As a rule, if you want some madness removed, get mad at it.
Ø  Dictionary writers, composers, analyzers and revisers are all partially mad. They want (all of) us to believe all that they tell us, as if it has come from God himself and as if it will never change.
Ø  If Dictionaries did not come FIRST, can God give us the Vedas, Bible and Qoran, each at a different place and time and in a different language – and believe us to understand them?
Ø  The holy books will lack sense, sans a sane, Static dictionary to support them. If you revise the dictionary, God’s word doesn’t change. But, its meaning does. It will be a great way of making the meanings of all holy books EXACTLY THE SAME. Its an idea worth a Nobel peace prize. But, if someone considers it blasphemous, I hereby affirm, Give the prize to any other man and take his head.
Ø  Dictionary writers, as a class, are insanely great (a Tom Peters’ Phrase). Insane. And Great. Simultaneously. Like Tom Peters himself, who coined the insanely great phrase.
Ø  We need clarity on who we are and who they are. For instance, a fool – is not a ‘foolish’ person. The two are different; not same. The ‘ish’ tag makes the latter a fake.  Foolish person is just faking. A fool is genuine. But, in reality, all of us are fakes.  There are no genuine fools anywhere. Therefore, the word is representing non-existent persons.
Ø  There are ‘wisish’ persons at all places. From Washington, to London to New Delhi. But, no dictionary has this word, wisish. The whole world is full of ‘wisish’ persons, including the class of dictionary writers; Presidents; prime ministers; kings et al.
Ø  The iron law of wisishness is : “Wisish = Foolish”. Wisish is exactly equal to Foolish. Anybody who fakes as wise is faking as fool simultaneously and unknowingly. So, wisish is foolish.
Ø  But still, we must create some difference between the two terms and persons – just for convenience sake. If you ask some one a doubt, you are foolish, the other is wisish. Dictionaries can incorporate this difference.
Ø  Many of the money bags whom Tom Peters applauds are all insanely great. Insane and great, that is. Tom knows it. He is one of the class. Every management expert is one. He may not manage himself, but knows how the rest of us can be managed. Or manipulated. Honestly.
Ø  Dictionary writers don’t give you any reasons why a word or phrase means only what they say -  and nothing else.
Ø  But, scientists  invariably give reasons and proofs in a scientific manner and scientific spirit - for all of their crazy findings. They tell you that all matter is - not matter ! Scientists are insanely great and scientists matter.
Ø  It does not matter, whether we are matter or non-matter. We continue to eat the same matter or non-matter and become the same matter or non-matter as we always did, before scientists said that all matter is not matter. We also produce the same non-matter (or matter) as our children, take great, loving care of these non-matter children and hope they will also do the same… for all ages to come.
Ø  Earth was originally flat. You can see this from God’s word in many holy Books, from most ancient times, when God was very active and used to come down and write or dictate books. You can’t dispute God’s word. When scientists came later on the scene, earth had slowly become oval-shaped. Currently, it is what scientists say it is. You can solve many of the world problems with this logic.
Ø  Since God is no more actively engaged in giving his words, commandments and his wisdom, Scientists are actively engaged in demolishing God’s words, one by one.
Ø  Each scientist’s duty is to demolish earlier scientists’ versions, step by step, block by block. Each new scientist  produces great, fool-proof reasons and proofs for - why the earlier scientists were wrong.  It happens all the time with Scientists. New evidences on the same subject keep coming. Look with a new eye. Things become different.
Ø  Things change. Change is the only thing that doesn’t change. But, everything else changes.
Ø  New scientists, new sciences, new theories and new proofs keep on coming from wisish persons.
Ø  Ancient India says, and I believe it, that a Pralayam (apocalypse of sorts) will wipe our whole world in which Sun, Moon, Earth, Galaxies etc are all floating in the sky – and a new order will emerge.
Ø  God is currently hibernating on the new order, to come after Pralayam.
Ø  The Good news is – we will all be there in the new world, in some form or other.
Ø  We will be there as allies and friends – of sorts.
Ø  An ally, let us clearly understand, need not be a friend. A friend also, need not be an ally. A friend, for example, doesn’t help you in wiping out terrorism in your own way. But an ally helps. He can and he does, because, he knows all of it. He knows all of it because he produces it.
Ø  Can an exorcist exorcise himself? We don’t really know. What is the moral of the movie by that name?
Ø  The Devil’s effect and God’s effect on the earthlings are both waning.
Ø  Many women are going back to the pre-knowledge days of Eve. Simple. Pristine. Pure. The No clothes era is again coming back. When woman does it, man apes her, automatically. Sheepishly. Much against God’s advice.
Ø  Woman’s advice always works better than God’s advice on man. To spoil him. It started with Eve.
Ø  The Indian yogi sees himself in every one -  and every one in himself. Does he see all the nudists in himself? If he cannot, the internet can help greatly. All of them are there.
Ø  Some one theorized that one in every four is insane. And, look at your friends. If three of them look sane, then, the one in four is you, says that some one.
Ø  Birds of the same feather flock together. Your friends can’t be different from you. If you are insane, so are they.
Ø  What is the difference between a foolish person and an insane person? Foolish person is insane some of the time. But, insane person is never foolish !
Ø  Do you agree with an insane person? If you agree, you too are one. If you don’t, you become one.
Ø  Love is Blind. Love is crazy. Love is insane. But, the cure for love is love itself. After suffering a bout of love, you become your earlier foolish and happy self.
Ø  “Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results” –said Albert Einstein. Saying is Doing. Einstein was telling the same theory of relativity daily, all his life. Was that insanity of sorts?
Ø  Others like Neil Bohr got tired of Einstein’s repetitions of his theory and started demolishing it. Einstein got different results by telling the same thing again and again - though from others.
Ø  “The reason I talk to myself is because I’m the only one whose answers I accept.” –says, George Carlin. He probably talked the same things daily and got them accepted by himself daily. He needed a lot of convincing.
Ø  In individuals, insanity is rare; but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule.” –says Friedrich Nietzsche. He is right. Individuals are foolish. Groups are Insane. Bring four persons together. They remain foolish as Individuals but become insane as Group.
Ø  “If you think anyone is sane you just don't know enough about them.” –says Christopher Moore. We don’t know enough of Christopher Moore.
Ø  “Dispute not with her: she is lunatic.” Says William Shakespeare. His times were good times. Now, she wants to be president, secretary or prime minister.
Ø  “We do not have to visit a madhouse to find disordered minds; our planet is the mental institution of the universe.” Says Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. He started with himself and then found this phenomenon as true in the whole planet. For a change, we want to find a similar planet away from ours, now.
Ø  “I should never be left alone with my mind for too long.” Says Libba Bray. True. But, who has the courage?
Ø  “Do you think it's possible for an entire nation to be insane?” asks Terry Pratchett. No…But, it’s impossible to be otherwise. That is the problem.
Ø  “Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every night of our lives.” Says William C.Dement. It is great to be insane every night, dreaming and doing all that we can’t do in our waking lives. When we wake up, we become foolish and incompetent again.
Ø  “Did you know that childhood is the only time in our lives when insanity is not only permitted to us, but expected?”-says Louis de Bernieres. I think - no, childhood is the only time when we are reasonably sane. Thereafter, we become permanently foolish and periodically insane.
Ø   “Let us consider that we are all partially insane. It will explain us to each other; it will unriddle many riddles…” Says Mark Twain. He has agreed about himself. How about you?
Ø  If you have any great insane and foolish sayings, please do enlighten me and make me wiser.
